If athletes are showing any of the following symptoms spectators or teammates, should report these symptoms to coaches. After symptoms have been reported or if coaches have noticed symptoms themselves the athlete will remain off the field until a proper concussion assessment can be completed. The athlete may not return to practice until they have received a note from a Concussion Doctor.
Symptoms after being hit in the head or fall:
- Blurred vision
- Loss of Consciousness
- Irritability
- Headache
- Dizziness
- Difficulty Concentrating
- Memory Loss of recent events
- Nausea
- Fatigue
- Sensitivity to light
If the athlete is unresponsive 911 will be called and the athlete will be monitored for the ABCs (Airway/Breathing/Circulation) until EMS arrives.
